VILLA HOPE has a contract with the central authority in El Salvador to place children for international adoption with US Citizens.
Children available through the El Salvador program include children and sibling groups from the age of 5 years and up. Applicants for infants and younger children with mild to moderate special needs will be considered on an individual basis.
Applicants should be between the ages of 25 and 55. Couples must be married for 5 years. There is some flexibility on these numbers with older children and children with special needs.
25-35 years old A child from 0-3 years
36-45 years old A child from 3-5 years
46-55 years old A child 6 years and up
Waiting time is approximately 6 months for review and acceptance of dossier. If more information is requested, it can prolong the approval. Once the dossier is approved, the Villa Hope representative may request that the Central Authority review it for a match with the waiting children. If a waiting child is assigned, it will take approximately 6-9 months and then both parents must travel to El Salvador for approximately 2-3 weeks to complete the adoption process. The entire adoption process can be 15– 36 months.
