Villa Hope is approved by PANI, the Central Authority in Costa Rica, to place children for international adoption.

Adoptive Family Qualifications

Married couples or a single individual between the ages of 25 – 60 are allowed to adopt from Costa Rica. Divorce is accepted. For a single individual wanting to adopt from Costa Rica, there must be at least a 15 year age difference between the applicant and the perspective adoptive child. For couples, the younger spouse has to be at least 15 years older than the perspective adoptive child. The couple must have been married for at least 5 years.

Children Available

Children adopted from Costa Rica are usually individual children over the age of seven years. The only exceptions to this rule are for children with special needs or disabilities and sibling groups of two to five members between the ages of 2-13 years old.
